Goda - Too little and no one is complaining.

For a movie that has a very interesting one liner, Goda does very little to excite the audience. It has all the ingredients - sports, clash of culture, hot girl, hot guy, hot old man - yet, you really cant recall anything about the movie after two hours of watching it. It takes a different level of incompetence to turn Kobe Beef into a Happy Meal. Thankfully the movie is hardly two hours long.

The story is set in a rural village in Kerala with Gatta Wrestling deeply ingrained in its history and culture. But, wrestling is no longer popular among the new generation and the seniors are trying to relive the good old days. Cricket has taken over as the popular sport. Imagine if a young female Punjabi wrestler enters this scene. There is drama and comedy right there. It only takes a fairly talented filmmaker to convert this into a good romantic comedy, but the end result is just faintly amusing. The wrestling scenes lack energy and fails to create the impact of an otherwise intense contact sport. 

There isn't much to write about ths movie. Unimpressive acting performances, a loose and predictable plot, tiring and played out characters - all contribute to this pointless movie.
